Ester Dittert – Owner & Instructor

Dance Styles: American Smooth & Rhythm, International Standard, swing, salsa (Latin), & country western, dance team
Background: Ester started dancing at age five and has been teaching dance for over 15 years. She trained in tap, jazz, ballet, pom, & hip hop in Lexington, Kentucky where she danced for her high school’s team and the University of Kentucky. During that time Ester also instructed for Eastern Cheer & Dance Association and coached high school and middle school dance teams. She taught ballroom dancing in Tampa, FL, Fullerton, CA, and Jacksonville, FL; she will now bring the best of her experiences from around the country to her hometown of Lexington.
Specialties: Creating a fun learning environment for all dancers, building teamwork in couples

Samantha – Staff

Dance Styles: Waltz, foxtrot, rumba, east coast swing, salsa, tango, cha cha, hustle, single-step swing

Background: Samantha moved to Lexington in 2010 from Charleston, West Virginia. She graduated from Lexington Catholic High School in 2012 and will graduate from the University of Kentucky in May of 2016. Despite moving here at the age of 16, she considers Lexington her home. She started dancing in August of 2015 when she signed up to take Ester Dittert’s class at UK and has loved it ever since.

Specialties: Making new dancers feel comfortable, creating a relaxed atmosphere for everyone

Other Professional Experience: B.A. in Psychology with a Spanish minor at the University of Kentucky, pursuing an M.S. in Counseling Psychology at the University of Kentucky

Favorite Dance: East Coast Swing, Tango

Siobhan – Staff

Dance Styles: American Smooth & Rhythm

Background: Siobhan began dancing at the age of eight and is new to teaching. She trained in ballet and pointe. She had a brief history in ballroom dancing during elementary school and decided to pick it up again when she reached college. Currently she is a full time student at the University of Kentucky. She hopes to bring her love of dancing into the classroom as she starts teaching.

Specialties: Teaching with logic and understanding while encouraging students to have fun and laugh along the way.

Other Professional Experience: Current Undergraduate in Secondary Education and Minoring in Theatre

Personality Traits: Kind, helpful but meticulous

Favorite Dance: Viennese Waltz
